A Beautiful Piece of History from Everyday People

Tankardstown Engine House, an old mining site, is set along the gorgeous Irish coast. There are many places like this in today’s world -- abandoned industrial sites that possess their own beauty. Who knows the history of the people who used to live and work here? What were their daily lives like? This mine closed some 140 years ago. Their stories are gone, but it’s not too late to preserve yours. Take a moment to reflect on a place you’ve worked and write down a few words about the city or setting. It doesn’t have to be anywhere gorgeous, but recording those words can provide a meaningful story to family or friends.
